"Cut For Time"

During the devising process, a lot of material gets created, and it's difficult to fit every moment into a play of this length. We let go of some moments more quickly than others...but we've decided not to let go of them all. Even though they didn't fit into our production, here are some of our favorite moments that we "cut for time."

Annika & Sarah — Moment: BLM Protest, Saratoga Springs, NY

Annika and Sarah were #HereToo’s first interviewees! In 2018 they led their high school walkouts, and went on to co-host a “Wear Orange” event during Everytown for Gun Safety’s Wear Orange weekend. Two years later, after the police murder of George Floyd, they participated in Black Lives Matter protests in their small town, to discover military-grade armored police vehicles, tear gas and other aggressive tactics.

#HereToo-CCC cast member Chloe Bassett crafted this moment to amplify facts about the overwhelming and disproportional impact of gun violence on all women, and to Say Their Names.

Maggie, David, Alex —Moment: Hard Conversations

Maggie created Students for Action in Bellingham, Washington. David Hogg and Alex King traveled on the Road to Change (March For Our Lives) Bus Tour. Each of them recounts hard conversations they had with the “other side.”
